Airbnb reviews

  •   Nice get away from the hustle and bustle and a big plus was that it is pet friendly. Peaceful and tranquility in abundance. Highly recommended.

  •   Great little pet friendly farm stay for a getaway weekend to escape the city. Friendly hosts that live on the property but with all the peace and quiet we felt like we had the place to ourselves. Location is perfect, with access to everything you need from restaurants, shops, and of course all wine farms. Nice touches to the kitchenette with everything you need, good plunger coffee too. When we were in room, we enjoyed watching Netflix in bed. Also the big bath tub is just heavenly 🙂 Our little dachshund had a great time too!

  •   Great space, nice and remote so you can truly get the feeling of being in the country. Right across the road from Ridgeback vineyard, but restaurants or groceries will require a car. Aileen and her family are extremely friendly and helpful, they know the area well and can give recommendations of places to eat or things to do in the area. The dogs and horses on the property and the sheep next door really add to the farm/country vibe. Definitely recommend for a quiet getaway or romantic escape.

Accommodation

Klein Waterkloof has three double rooms: a honeymoon suite (Silvertree), separate from the others, Bushwillow and Waterberry which are adjacent to each other. Each room has its own en-suite bathroom to make your stay more comfortable. The neighbourhood is a quiet farm-style one.

We use Airbnb to manage our bookings. If you are not comfortable using AirBnB please contact us for an estimate/invoice. We do not accept cards but are happy with EFT and would require a 50% deposit to confirm your booking.

Silvertree

Silvertree room is attached to the main house but has its own entrance and is completely separate and private.

The room can function as twin (two separate single beds) or double rooms (one king-sized bed).

Each en-suite bathroom has:

  • a spacious shower
  • gorgeous claw-foot bathtub
  • vintage washstand

The room also has a mini kitchenette with a microwave, kettle, toaster, and bar fridge.

Complimentary plunger coffee, rooibos and Ceylon tea and hot chocolate are standard in the room. Being tea lovers, we have a large assortment of herbal teas which we are happy to share on request.

There is no DSTV (apologies to the sports fans) but each room has a media player with Netflix loaded and free WiFi is a standard feature.

There are pets on the property (dogs, cats and horses – please view our pets’ page to learn more about them) but the guest area is fenced off. The fence which divides the front of the property from the back and the guests area from the back garden is only 1.2m high and our dogs and cats have access to the back garden, so please factor this into your planning.

Pets

Our pets are a very important part of our home and we want guests to enjoy interacting with them as much as we do.

Some important points:

  • Please do not feed any of our pets without asking permission. We do not want to encourage them to bother guests.
  • Please close gates behind you. Some areas are off limits to the horses because they eat EVERYTHING!
  • Please do not greet the dogs until they are sitting and quiet. They need to practice their manners and this ensures that they do not become a nuisance to other guests by learning to jump up.
  • Please do not hesitate to tell us if any of our pets are bothering you. We know not everybody likes or is comfortable with animals and we also know that sometimes you just need a break from their furry attentions.

We recommend that cats be kept inside the rooms. Although the guesthouse is pet-friendly we ask that you respect the space and not allow your pets to damage anything.  Please bring their own beds and blankets. A litter box and flushable cat litter can be provided on request. We do not ask for a pet damages deposit, however, any damages will be for your account.
